We are being bombarded with the narrative that AI, specifically generative AI, will solve all of the world’s problems. We’re also being told that the world is running out of drinkable water. So which one of these happens first?

When we asked the sustainable AI experts, they told us it was a cross-disciplinary problem. But they weren’t involved in or aware of any cross-disciplinary efforts aimed at answering the question. So we’ve issued a call to any and everyone who is able, to help us answer the most pressing question of our time - Can AI solve all of our problems before we die of thirst?
